Namaste in Nature

The gesture Namaste translates to, “the light in me bows to the light in you.” The hand position is called anjali mudra. Anjali comes from the Sanskrit root anj, meaning “to honor or celebrate.” Mudra means “seal.” By bringing our hands together at the center of the heart, we are uniting the right and left sides of our bodies and balancing and harmonizing our energies. This keeps us clear, centered, and positive. One of the greatest blessings of yoga is that it connects you to the light within yourself. When you are connected to your own light, you are connected to the light in all things and all beings.
